Trojans Drop Final Game at MT Shootout

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Troy men's tennis team fell to UT Arlington, 4-2, in the consolation final of the Middle Tennessee Shootout on Sunday afternoon.

Troy (6-14) took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2, and went up 2-0 after Gabriel Sciacca Dias won at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0. However, the Mavericks took the next four singles matches to clinch the victory.

UT Arlington (7-11) won at No. 6, No. 5, No. 3 and No. 4 to clinch the match. Sami Ghorbel's match at No. 2 was still on the court when the Mavericks clinched the win.

The Trojans return to the court on Wednesday when they travel to Jacksonville State.
