Trojans Drop Season Opener at No. 33 Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team dropped its season opener at No. 33 Alabama on Saturday night, 4-0. The match was the first for the Trojans under head coach Scott Kidd.
Troy (0-1) fell at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles giving Alabama (3-0) an early lead. The Crimson Tide then won three singles matches in straight sets to take the match; their third win of the day after defeating UAB and Alabama A&M.
The Trojans return to the floor on Monday when they travel to take on Florida A&M and No. 36 Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla. The Trojans will play five matches over the first week of the season, with four of them coming against ranked teams.
