Troy Travels to In-State Foe Jacksonville State, Hosts Murray State on Sunday

TROY, Ala. – The Troy soccer team wraps up a three-game road swing at Jacksonville State on Friday night at 7 p.m., before returning home to the Troy Soccer Complex on Sunday at 1 p.m. to face Murray State.

Live stats for both matches will be available on TroyTrojans.com and Sunday's match against the Racers will be aired on Troy Trojans All-Access.

The Trojans (2-4-0) are looking to snap a two-match losing streak after falling to UAB and Auburn last weekend. Troy fell 6-2 to the Blazers in the first-ever meeting between the schools last Friday and dropped a 3-0 decision at Auburn on Sunday.

Senior forward Cecilia Thorngren leads Troy with seven points (three goals and one assist) heading into the weekend, while freshman midfielder Necee Jennings is second on the team with four points coming on a two goals. Seven Trojans have scored at least one goal in the first six games of the 2013 campaign.

Troy brings a three-match winning streak against in-state rival Jacksonville State (2-2-1) entering Friday night's match. In their last meeting against the Gamecocks in 2011, the Trojans recorded three second-half goals with two coming in the final ten minutes of play to pick up a 3-2 victory at the Troy Soccer Complex.

On Sunday, Troy faces Murray State (3-0-1) in the first home match for the Trojans since Sept. 1. Admission is free to all Troy soccer matches. In their last meeting, the Trojans were defeated 1-0 on the road by the Racers.
