Trojans Wrap Up Competition at Samford Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team wrapped up the Samford Invitational on Sunday, falling to Samford 2-1 in doubles.

Sami Ghorbel and Patrick Eichler were victorious in a very tight second doubles match, winning 9-8 (4) against Samford.

Several other Trojans competed in singles matches, with all four winning against Jacksonville State. Ghorbel defeated his opponent, Felipe Diaz, 6-2, 7-5. Mansingh Athare defeated Felipe Watanabe, 6-3, 6-3, while Danile Bustamante defeated Felipe Wenzel, 6-4, 6-2. Eichler won in his match as well, taking down Pansera, 6-1, 6-2.

The Trojans return to action at the ITA Regional Championships, beginning on Thursday.
