Men’s Tennis Competes at Samford Fall Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Trojans enjoyed a successful afternoon at Samford on Friday afternoon, winning three of four doubles matches against Jacksonville State and taking six of eight singles matches against UAB.

Mansingh Athare and Andre Stabile were victorious in first singles, winning 8-5. Sami Ghorbel and partner Patrick Eichler followed suit with an 8-2 win at second singles, while Anas Rouchdi and Daniel Bustamante took down third singles, 8-0.

Singles was much of the same for the Trojans, with Rouchdi winning in the second flight, 6-4, 6-4. Bustamante won at fourth singles, 6-4, 6-1, while Athare took down fifth singles 6-1, 4-6, 7-6. Eichler won a hard fought sixth singles match, 6-4, 6-4, while Josh Hurd won in the seventh flight, 6-1, 6-3. Tadju Davies breezed through eighth singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Troy continues action tomorrow, with matches throughout the day.
