Trojan Rodeo Team to Compete in Mississippi

ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO RODE RESULTS
The Troy University rodeo team is in the middle of a three-week stretch of competition this weekend when the Trojans head to Northwest Mississippi Community College.
The team competed at the University of Arkansas-Monticello last weekend and will conclude its Ozark Region competition next weekend at UT-Martin.
Stetson Aldridge won the calf roping last weekend at Monticell and has almost clenched an Ozark Region title in the event for the season.
"We have a group of guys that look like they're going to qualify for nationals this year in Stetson Aldridge, Lane Taylor and Cody Skelton," Trojans rodeo coach Josh Simmons said.
Aldridge and Lane will be returning to the college nationals for the second consecutive year if they compete well over the next two weekends.
"I feel we're ready for the competition this weekend, the team has been working really hard," Simmons said.
The event this weekend in Senatobia, Miss., will open with competition tonight and will continue with performances on Friday evening with the finals set for Saturday night.
