Trojans defeat in-state rival on the road

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Troy University women's tennis team bounced back from a tough defeat this weekend, defeating in-state rival Jacksonville State 5-2 on the road in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon.
The Trojans started the day off quickly, sweeping all three doubles matches to grab an overall 1-0 lead on Jacksonville State. The number one team of Karoline Grymel and Leonie Guijt were first off the court, defeating Raisa Guasti and Martina Dessbesell 8-2. The point was clinched when the number three team of Gabrielle Veiga and Olfa Dhaoui defeated Jacksonville State's Kelly Tomlin and Rafeala Wenzel 8-2.
The Trojans completed the sweep with an 8-6 victory by the number two doubles team of Rosaura Ramirez-Vega and Lyubov Dorafeeva defeated Jacksonville State's Ralphaela Lima and Juliana Resto.
In singles play, the Trojans captured the top four spots in the lineup to capture the overall victory.
At number one singles, Karoline Grymel defeated Raisa Guasti 7-5, 6-1; while her doubles partner, Leonie Guijt completed a perfect week by defeated Jacksonville State's Ralphaela Lima 6-3, 6-3. In other singles action, Olfa Dhaoui defeated Martina Dessbesell of Jacksonville State 6-0, 6-2 at number two; while at number four, Lyubov Dorafeeva defeated Jacksonville State's Juliana Renesto 6-0, 6-0
The Trojans return to action on April 1 as they hit the road against Arkansas State in Sun Belt Conference action.
