Trojans Hit Road, Faced Unranked Opponent for First Time

For the first time in seven matches, the Trojans men’s tennis team will face unranked team

DELAND, Fla. – For the first time this season, the 70th-ranked Troy University men's tennis team will face an unranked team on the road after opening the season with seven consecutive matches against ranked opponents.
However, the road doesn't get any easier for Troy (0-7) as they face Stetson (7-0) Thursday afternoon. The Hatters have run through their early portion of the schedule, as they have lost no more than two matches in any particular team match. The only times the Hatters have dropped more than one match has been against Lehigh (February 4) and Georgia Southern (February 12).
The Trojans, however, have been tested as they have played one top-10 opponent (Texas A&M) and three other top-40 opponents (Alabama, Auburn and Miami). They have struggled to win matches, but they have been competitive in each of their matches thus far this season.
Following their match with Stetson, the Trojans will travel to Orlando to take on the University of Central Florida on Friday afternoon.
Central Florida (1-3) has not played in six days and they are coming off back-to-back road losses to Indiana and Drake University. The Black Knights opened the season with a win over Jacksonville at home, before falling to top-10 ranked Florida on the road.
The match with Stetson begins at 2:30 pm (EST) on Thursday afternoon, with the match against Central Florida beginning at 2:00 pm (EST) on Friday afternoon.
