Trojans Track and Field Off and Running This Weekend

Troy travels to Murfreesboro for the second time this season
TROY, Ala. - The Troy University track and field program hit the ground running this week as they travel back to Murfreesboro, Tennessee this weekend. They will be competing in the Middle Tennessee Valentine's Invitational, with teams from all over the southeast.
The women's program has already seen one great competition this season at Middle Tennessee, with the throwers putting on an impressive performance when they claimed the top spots in two events.
This weekend will give the Trojans a chance to get a look at Sun Belt Conference members Middle Tennessee, which is ranked 11th in the South Region, and Western Kentucky, which is ranked 10th in the Southeast Region.
The other teams attending the meet will be Belmont, Tennessee State, Milligan College and UT-Chattanooga.
"After coming off solid meet at Clemson, we feel we need to capitalize on this last competition before the Sun Belt Championship," Troy Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Jill Lancaster said.
The Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships are only two weeks away, so the experience gained at this meet will be valuable going into the off week.
