Troy women's basketball heads to Montgomery to take on Alabama State on Thursday.
Game Notes
Troy, Ala. – Troy (0-8, 0-0) women's basketball hits the road again on Thursday, this time to take on Alabama State (2-3, 0-0) in Montgomery, Alabama. The Trojans will look to bounce back from their last game in Sartain Hall in which they fell to American University 45-55 on Sunday.
Historically the Trojans have struggled against the Hornets as Alabama State leads the overall series record 7-14; 1-9 in Montgomery. However, Troy has yet to play Alabama State under the leadership of head coach Michael Murphy.
The Trojans are still looking to pick up their first win of the 2011-12 season. Not having a win in eight games will not slow down Troy as they maintain their focus on the task at hand.
“You can't worry about your record,” said head coach Michael Murphy.
“I've been on both sides, but you cannot focus on the record. What you focus on is the next possession. If you try to get too far ahead of yourself or look too far into the past you lose sight of what is important, which is the next possession. We have to learn from the past possession, prepare for the future possession but focus on the present possession. You can't become anchored down by your record, good or bad. That's all we can do.”
Troy will tipoff against Alabama State on Thursday at 6pm in Dunn-Oliver Acadome on the campus of Alabama State University.
