JRF Invitational Showed More Improvements From the Trojans

CLEMSON, SC - The Troy University women had another great meet this weekend, with the tough competition at the JRF Invitational Troy was able to continue building on this season's successes.
The JRF Invitational was a two-day meet that started late Friday afternoon, for the Trojans.
On Friday, the 5000 meters had three Trojans in the top ten, Sylvia Chirchir placed fourth, 18:46.43, Morgan Paulson placed fifth, 19:08.51, and Agnes Kapsoiyo placed seventh, 19:26.55.
Ashley Hall ran in the 60-meter dash where she placed 15th with a time of 7.98. Jasmine Patton and Kierra Lyles ran in the 60 meter hurdles with a 12th and 16th place finish respectively at times of 9.36 and 9.61.
In the 400 meters Ja-Courtney Alexander placed ninth with a time of 59.36, and Veronica Bryant ran in the 400 meters as well with a time of 1:02.42.
Catelyn Dake ran well in the 800 meters again as she finished 14th with a time of 2:23.57.
In the shot put Nicole Studstill and Ashley Evans placed ninth and tenth with throws of 11.19 meters and 11.16 meters. Karen Wyatt placed 16th in the shot put with a throw of 9.80 meters.
On Saturday, Morgan Paulson ran the 3000 meters and placed 12th with a time of 10:53.21.
The 4x400 meter relay continued to do well with a fourth place finish with a time of 4:00.72 with a running order of Amiracle Watson, Ja-Courtney Alexander, Veronica Bryant and Tiffany Slater.
Veronica Bryant placed fifth in the high jump with a jump of 1.60 meters.
Brynn Forsythe continued her season improvements with a fourth place finish with a throw of 16.06 meters. Karen Wyatt placed seventh with a throw of 15.30 meters and Nicole Studstill placed 11th with a throw of 14.25 meters.
Ja-Courtney Alexander did well in the 200 meters with a fifth place finish with a time of 25.34.
“The meet was a good outing for the team with improvements seen from almost everyone,” Director of Track and Field Jill Lancaster said. “We really think if we continue to improve and work hard in practice, we will see more improvements at our next meet at Middle Tennessee.”
