Troy Faces UTSA on Monday

SAN ANTONIO – After winning the season opener, the Troy Trojans men's basketball team has dropped two straight and faces UTSA on Monday night in non-conference action.

Tip-off for Monday night's game is set for 7 pm at the UTSA Convocation Center and Barry McKnight will bring you all the action on the Troy Sports Network presented by IMG College. Air-time is 6:30 pm.

The Trojans fell 80-70 on Friday night in Atlanta to Georgia State in a game where they battled back from as many as 18 points to cut the deficit to 10 on four separate occasions, but could never get any closer.

Senior Levan Patsatsia (Tbilisi, Georgia) had a career night setting new marks for points scored (22) and minutes played (37). Will Weathers also set a new career high with 14 points.

Those were the only bring spots as the Trojans once again struggled from the field, shooting just 39.6 percent (22-of-53) from the field and a dismal 51.4 percent (19-of-37) from the foul line.

Adding to the agony was Weathers leaving late in the contest due to injury. His status for Monday night's game is questionable. An injury to Weathers would bring Troy's injury total to four with Travis Lee (knee), Nic Combs (hand) and Flynn Clayman (hip) each missing the season's first three games for medical reasons.

Patsatsia leads Troy in scoring at 15.0 ppg, while senior center Bernard Toombs is grabbing eight rebounds a game. He has also blocked nine shots in three games to move into ninth on Troy's Division I career list with 48.

The Road Runners are led by talented 6-foot-8 freshman Jeromie Hill (19.0 ppg, 8.7 rpg) and preseason All-Southland pick senior guard Devin Gibson (12.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg).
