Trojans Run-Rule UALR, 15-3

“We played a good game today and we finally swung the bats,” coach Bobby Pierce said. “I was proud of our effort and how we responded to yesterday's loss. We need to keep this momentum rolling as we hit the road for several games.”
The Troy Trojans answered the UALR inning with six runs in the bottom of the first. Adam Bryant reached on a lead-off walk and moved to second on a single by Steven Felix. Michael Precise singled to right scoring Bryant from second. Bryan Miller doubled to right center scoring Felix. Both runners scored on a two-RBI single off the bat of Brett Henry. Brock Kelley singled up the middle and scored on another two-RBI single, this time by Shohei Fujita to give Troy the 6-2 lead.
The Trojans added five more in the sixth on five hits. Precise doubled to left with the bases loaded for three more RBI. Precise scored on w wild pitch and Henry singled up the middle scoring Brooks, who reached on a single for the 13-3 lead.
Fujita doubled in a run in the sixth and Precise singled in Fujita for the 15-3 final score.
“Michael is seeing the ball well right now,” Pierce said. “He has had a great week and we look for more from the rest of the group.”
Jeff Green (1-3) got his first win of the year on the game. He went six complete innings and allowed three runs on six hits. He walked one and struck out six.
“Jeff had good stuff today and he commanded his pitches,” Pierce said. “He located his pitches and kept their hitters off balance and got good run support from our offense.”
Precise led all hitters with four hits and six RBI. Fujita and Kelley each had two hits with Fujita picking up three RBI. Henry also had two hits and three RBI.
