OUTLOOK: Returns as an impact performer on the defensive line, where he can play both the tackle and nose teackle positions.
2006: Saw action in all 13 games, five as a starter at defensive tackle...Was credited with 20 tackles on the season, including 11 solo stops...Was credited with four tackles for loss, including two at Florida Atlantic...Biggest play of the year came against UAB when he recovered a fumble and returned it 31 yards to set up Troy’s only score of the game... Was also credited with eight quarterback hurries and three pass breakups.
PRIOR TO TROY: Played for coach J.J. Eckert at Garden City CC ... During his sophomore season was named second team All-Conference after recording 47 tackles, including eight for loss with five sacks ... Was credited with an intereption, 18 quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a blocked kick ... During his freshman season he was credited with 29 total tackles, including 8.5 for loss and two sacks ... Competed in the shot and discus in high school.
PERSONAL: Is the son of Annette Batts ... Has one sister, Maya, who was born on March 14, 2006 ... Was recruited by Jeremy Rowell as a defensive tackle.
