MONROE, La. - Troy baseball is set for its final weekend of the regular season as the Trojans wrap up Sun Belt Conference play at ULM Thursday through Saturday.
The Trojans enter the weekend on a three-game winning streak, taking the final two games of a crucial conference series against South Alabama before rolling to a 14-5 win at UAB on Tuesday. Troy has launched 10 home runs during the streak, including four in Tuesday's win over the Blazers, which pushed the Trojans above .500 for the first time this season at 27-26.
Centerfielder Steven Meier was dominant in Tuesday's victory, ripping a double and two homers while tallying a career-high seven RBIs, the most by a Trojan since Kyle Mock in 2024 against Louisiana. Catcher Jabe Boroff homered for the second consecutive game while second baseman Sean Darnell launched his fourth homer of the season.
Headed into the final weekend, Troy sits tied for fourth in the Sun Belt standings at 15-12 and owns the tiebreaker over South Alabama after last weekend's series victory. The Trojans trail App State by one game, though the Mountaineers hold the tiebreaker after Troy dropped that series two weeks ago. Troy is also one game ahead of Louisiana and two games ahead of Texas State, Old Dominion, and Marshall, all teams the Trojans own series wins over.
On the mound, Troy will keep the same trio for the fourth consecutive weekend with left-hander Benjamin Stubbs on Thursday, righty Tommy Egan in game two, and lefty Hayden Smith in the finale. ULM will trot out lefty Brandt Corley in the opener and freshman righty Adam Brodnax in game two. The Warhawks have not announced a starter for game three.
ULM enters the weekend at 11-16 and is fighting for a spot in the Sun Belt Tournament. Georgia State currently occupies the 10th and final spot at 12-15, while Arkansas State (11-16) and James Madison (10-17) remain in the hunt. ULM's offense ranks second in the Sun Belt in batting average (.294), first in doubles (110) and fifth in homers (57), though the Warhawk pitching staff ranks 11th with a 6.24 team ERA.
