Men’s Tennis Prepares to Battle Southern Miss in SBC Quarterfinals

TROY, Ala. - Troy men's tennis will take on No. 7 Southern Miss in the Sun Belt Conference Championship quarterfinals on Friday at the Rome Tennis Complex.
Troy (22-4) sits as the No. 2 seed for the championship and is 2-0 in the conference. On the other side of the court, Southern Miss (8-11) is 0-0 in the conference.
The Trojans have put together a fifteen-match winning streak, with sophomore Hiiro Sakamoto leading the team in singles wins at 19-0. Sophomore Thiago Drozdowski and freshman Stephan Tavares Noale are 11-3 in doubles, the pair with the most doubles win on the team.
For the Golden Eagles, senior Olimjon Nabiev is 8-7 in singles this season, the most singles wins on the team. Seniors Pasawee Reansuwong and Shamirul Shahril are 5-7 in doubles, while sophomore Dakotah Bobo and freshman Henry Lamchinniah are 5-5, with both doubles teams tying for the most doubles wins for Southern Miss.
