Poppell Carries Individual Lead Into Final Round of Seminole Intercollegiate

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Lee Poppell sits at the top of the leaderboard at the Seminole Intercollegiate following two rounds of play as teams wrapped up round two on Monday following a lengthy weather delay. Troy is in fourth place as a team, just four shots back of second.

Poppell is 6-under through 36 holes thanks to 11 birdies and a 3.70 scoring average on the par 4 holes, both best in the field. He shot in the red in both of his rounds to push his season total of under-par rounds to a team-best 11.

Teams played all 18 holes of the first round and around 75 percent of their second round on Sunday before darkness halted play. Golfers hit the grounds of the Seminole Legacy Golf Course on Monday around 4 p.m. after the course dried following storms that hammered the area overnight.

Troy shot rounds of 4-over and 8-over as a team to sit 12-over heading into Tuesday's final round. Florida State leads at 4-under, followed by Southern Miss (+8) and Stetson (+10).

Pablo Gracia is on the cusp of his second top 10 of the year, as he's tied for 13th place at 1-over, while Pierce Becker is tied for 46th place at 7-over, Thomas Crane is tied for 72nd place at 10-over and Grant Yerger is tied for 102nd place at 17-over. Playing as an individual, Lawton Emblom is tied for 95th place at 15-over.

The top four teams will tee off together for Tuesday's final round beginning at 9:20 a.m. from the first tee box.
