Lowery, Emblom Lead Troy on Day Two of Golfweek Fall Challenge

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – Jack Lowery and Lawton Emblom each shot 2-under in Monday's second round of the Golfweek Fall Challenge at the True Blue Golf Course to lead Troy. The Trojans shot 2-under on the day and maintained their second-place standing on the leaderboard.

Lowery, a first-year player for the Trojans, was 7-under at one point in his round after carding seven birdies over a 10-hole stretch from the fourth to the 13th. He ran into trouble over his final three holes, recording two doubles and a triple-bogey.

Emblom finished his day with six birdies, all coming on a stretch of nine holes over the middle of the round.

Lowery is tied for 12th place at 3-under through the first two rounds, while Emblom is tied for 35th place at 2-over.

Georgia Southern holds a 16-shot lead over Troy after the Eagles shot 9-under on the day. Troy is three shots clear of Georgia State, while Mercer and Eastern Kentucky are eight shots back, tied for fourth.

Thomas Crane, Pablo Gracia and Lee Poppell sit between Lowery and Emblom, tied for 16th, 21st and 27th place, respectively. Crane played a relatively clean round with two birdies, two bogeys and a double en route to a 74, while Poppell had three birdies in his round of 74. Gracia traded two birdies for two bogeys in an even round.

Troy enters Tuesday's final round with a combined 36 birdies, good for second in the field, as Lowery's 11 individual birdies are tied for second and his 6-under on the par 5s is tied for first.

Teams wrap play with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
