Troy Third, Poppell Tied for First at Seminole Intercollegiate

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Lee Poppell is tied for first place and Troy is in third place as teams are around three-quarters of the way through the second round of the Seminole Intercollegiate, held at the Seminole Legacy Golf Course.
Play was halted due to darkness, with teams on the course trying to get in as many holes as possible ahead of potential bad weather on Monday.
Poppell is 6-under through 15 holes in the second round after shooting a 4-under 68 in the morning round. Poppell, who is tied with Southern Miss' Matthew Javier, has 11 total birdies so far, the most in the field. He's done significant damage on the par-4 holes, shooting 6-under, three shots better than Javier in second.
Troy was 9-over as a team when the horn sounded to halt play on Sunday, which is good for third place and just four shots back of Southern Miss. Florida State is the clubhouse leader at 4-under, while Western Kentucky and Stetson are two shots back of Troy in a tie for fourth.
Pablo Gracia is tied for 15th place at 1-over as he has three holes left to play in his second round. He shot a 1-under 71 in the first round thanks to a trio of birdies and has a pair of birdies with three holes to play in the second round.
Piece Becker shot 4-over in the first round and sits tied for 49th place after holding a 2-over card with six holes to play in his second round, while Thomas Crane is tied for 62nd at 8-over and Grant Yerger is tied for 110th at 17-over. Playing as an individual, Lawton Emblom is tied for 82nd place at 10-over par.
Teams hope to resume play around 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
