Troy Readies for Home Match Against Louisiana Tech

TROY, Ala. -Â Following its first Sun Belt win of the season on Saturday, Troy soccer prepares to host Louisiana Tech for the Bulldogs' first visit to Troy as a member of the Sun Belt.Â
Troy (2-8-2, 1-3-0 SBC) picked up its first conference win since the 2024 season on Saturday, defeating Coastal Carolina, 1-0 at the Troy Soccer Complex. Despite the Trojans' going down a player due to an 84th minute red card, the team found the winner, as Alaina Uncapher headed home a corner ball from Brooke Slater in the 87th minute.Â
The clean sheet was Troy's second of the season as goalkeeper Taylor Richards made three saves in the effort. No save was bigger than in the closing moments of Saturday's match, as Richards dove to her left to keep the ball out of the back of the net and preserve the Trojan victory.Â
Louisiana Tech (3-7-2, 1-2-1 SBC) also picked up its first Sun Belt win of the season this past weekend, defeating ULM, 3-2, on Sunday. Forward Madison Pensom had a career day for the Bulldogs, scoring a hat trick. Her efforts led to her being named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week.Â
