Soccer Heads to Louisiana for Sunday Matinee

TROY, Ala. -Â Troy soccer heads on the road this weekend for a Sunday afternoon contest against Louisiana. Kickoff from Lafayette is set for 1 p.m.Â
Troy (1-7-2, 0-2-0 SBC) is coming off a 2-1 loss to Marshall on Thursday night. The Trojans played 57 minutes down a player after Sofia Sasan was sent off with a red card, and the Herd scored two second-half goals. Despite being a player short, the Trojans generated numerous opportunities, including a 72nd-minute goal from first-year player Braelyn Carey, marking her first career goal.Â
Louisiana (7-2-2, 1-0-1 SBC) most recently played to a scoreless draw at Old Dominion on Thursday. Both defenses played well in front of their goalkeepers; Louisiana goalie Natalie Myers was forced to make just two saves, while ODU was held to just seven shots. The Ragin' Cajuns opened conference play with a 3-2 win over Coastal Carolina on Sept. 20.Â
