TROY, Ala. - Sitting on a three-game winning streak, Troy Soccer hits the road on Thursday for a matchup with North Alabama in Florence, Ala.
The Trojans have scored three goals in each of their last three matches in wins over Alcorn State, Southeastern Louisiana and Spring Hill, the first time doing so since 2014. Senior forward Jiselle Daniels, the Sun Belt leader in goals (5), points (10) and shots on goal (9), has scored five goals in that stretch.
Freshman Kelsey Barrett had a breakout performance in the win over Spring Hill on Sunday, logging her first career assist in a goal by Bowling Green transfer Alaina Uncapher before scoring her first collegiate goal on a breakaway early in the second half. Barrett is the first Troy freshman since 2018 with a goal and an assist in the same match.
In net, Auburn transfer Taylor Richards has worked back-to-back shutouts, the first two shutouts of her career, and owns a 3-1 record on the season. The junior currently ranks third in the Sun Belt in goals against average (0.75) and her two shutouts are tied for the most in the conference.
North Alabama enters the matchup with a 0-1-2 record on the season. While the Lions have not netted a goal through their first three matches, their back line has held opponents to just one goal on the season as goalkeeper Madison Vukas owns a .950 save percentage.
