FLORENCE, Ala. - Jiselle Daniels' first-half goal gave Troy an early lead, but the Trojans couldn't hold on in a 2-1 loss to North Alabama on Thursday night at the Cox Creek Sports Complex.

Daniels put Troy (3-2) on the board in the 32nd minute with her Sun Belt-leading sixth goal of the season, but it would be the Trojans' only goal of the match despite recording 14 shots on goal. Daniels has now scored in four straight matches, the first Trojan to do so since Alissa Jones scored in five straight in 2014.

North Alabama (1-1-2) responded in the second half, equalizing in the 52nd minute on Alice Bussey's goal, assisted by Gizelle El Assal. The Lions scored the game-winner in the 81st minute when Olivia Heinert converted off assists from Abigail Witten and Maddie Reynolds.

Troy dominated the shot column 17-11, including a 14-7 edge in shots on goal, but UNA goalkeeper Madison Vukas recorded 13 saves to keep the Lions in front. Troy goalkeeper Nittany Vega, making her first start of the season, finished with five saves.

The Trojans return to the Troy Soccer Complex on Sunday for a 1 p.m. matchup with Jacksonville. Troy faced the Dolphins on the road last season, ending in a 2-2 draw.
