VICKSBURG, Miss. - Troy soccer defeated Alcorn State 3-1 behind a header by Elsa Stedman and Jiselle Daniels' first career multi-goal performance.

The Trojans outshot the Lady Braves 8-6, and struck first in the 16th minute as Stedman headed in a Megan Hamm corner kick for her first goal in the cardinal and white after transferring from East Carolina. Alcorn State responded in the 27th minute with a goal by Michelle Lesmes Diaz.

Daniels broke the tie in the 43rd minute on a pass from Grace DeShetler to give Troy a 2-1 lead going into the break. The captain, Daniels, once again found the back of the net just five minutes into the second half on an assist by Alaina Uncapher.

Troy cruised to victory in the second half, as Taylor Richards stopped Alcorn State's only second half shot on goal in the 88th minute.

Notables

Jiselle Daniels recorded the first multi-goal game of her career. Daniels' two goals were her second and third goals as a Trojan and the sixth and seventh goals of her career.
Daniels recorded the first multi-goal game by a Trojan since Dolce Villafor's two goals in a 4-1 win against Alabama State on September 3, 2023.
East Carolina transfer Elsa Stedman recorded her first goal as a Trojan and second of her career.
Sophomore Megan Hamm recorded her first career assist.
Sophomore Grace DeShetler recorded her first career assist.
Bowling Green transfer Alaina Uncapher recorded her first assist as a Trojan and seventh of her career.
