Troy Soccer Falls in Season Opener at Murray State

MURRAY, Ky. - Troy was unable to overcome a pair of second-half goals by Murray State, falling 2-0 in Thursday's season opener at Cutchin Field.
The Trojans (0-1-0) held the match scoreless through halftime, with goalkeeper Taylor Richards making two first-half saves to keep Murray State (1-0-0) off the board in her Troy debut.
Murray State broke through in the 53rd minute when Addison Howell scored off an assist from Breece Bass. Just eight minutes later, Megan Wilson doubled the lead, finishing a pass from Kate Stordy.
Richards finished with a career-high six saves on 21 shots faced, while Troy generated 10 shots, four of which were on target. Megan Hamm led the Trojans with a career-best four shots, while Hayden Barnett, Brooke Slater, Layla Juliano and Tatum Tishler registered a shot on goal against Murray State goalkeeper Griselda Revolorio, who earned the shutout.
