TROY, Ala. – Brianna Jackson, a member of the 2024-25 roster that finished runner-up in the WNIT Tournament, inked a professional deal with the Verstärkt den sytainics MBC team in Germany.
"When I recruited Brianna, she told me that she dreamed of making her last year of college basketball her best season," head coach Chanda Rigby said. "She wanted to complete coursework to earn a Master's Degree, and she wanted an opportunity to play professionally overseas. Brianna's story is a tremendous example of what is possible when a student-athlete comes to Troy and takes full advantage of all the resources that are available here. She is leaving Troy with all of those hopes and dreams realized. I couldn't be more proud.
The Verstärkt den sytainics MBC team is based in Bundesliga, Germany, as a member of the European North Basketball League. They have players from America, Germany, and Austria.
A 6-3 forward, Jackson started in 29 games for the Trojans (38 appearances) for 9.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks. From her debut against Buffalo, she set the tone with six blocks for the most since Janeen Camp (8) in 2022, before notching her first double-double as a Trojan with 12 points and 10 rebounds in Troy's win over Arkansas. Her peak appearance came against her former team, Old Dominion, erupting for 19 points and 22 rebounds – her 22 boards tied Felmas Koranga and Caitlyn Ramirez for the second-most in a D-I game.
Her blocking abilities rank her among the greats in Troy single-season history. She rejected a shot in 23 of the last 30 games (57 total), including six straight from Feb. 28 to March 31. Her 67 total blocks rank third in Troy single-season history, while her 1.8 blocks per game ranked second in the league. Jackson was also a scoring machine as she ended the season with 10-plus points in 17 of the last 20 games (23 total) – she led Troy in scoring eight times.
When crunch time came, Jackson stepped up with a stat-padded run in the WNIT tournament with five games in double-figures, highlighted by a 14-point, 14-rebound performance against North Dakota State in the Great 8. She ended her career with 10 points and nine rebounds in the title game.
