TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis recorded a clean, 4-0 sweep of ULM on Sunday morning at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
Due to a poor weather forecast for later in the day, the two teams agreed to go straight into singles play and only play doubles if necessary. Troy (10-7, 5-3 SBC) dominated ULM from start to finish.
Maria Guirguis opened the scoring with a 6-1, 6-1 win in the No. 2 spot. Gabrielle Leslie followed with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 to make the Trojan lead 2-0. Freshman Veena Nazar recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win on court 5 to push the Trojans to the brink of victory.
Leena Metwally sealed things up with a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 4.
The remaining two matches went unfinished.
Up Next
The Trojans return to the court on Saturday morning as it hosts Louisiana. First serve is set for 10 a.m. at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
