Women’s Tennis Dominates Louisiana

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis team swept Louisiana in dominant fashion on Saturday morning at the Lunsford Tennis Complex to win its fourth consecutive match.
Troy (11-7, 6-3 SBC) got off to a hot start in doubles play and carried it over to singles, with Louisiana (9-9, 2-7) having no answer.
Valeriia Avdeeva and Maria Guirguis kicked things off with a 6-1 win in the top doubles spot to put the Trojans in the driver's seat early. Emilia Namyslo and Gabrielle Leslie followed with a 6-4 win at the No. 2 spot to clinch the 1-0 lead for Troy. The final doubles match went unfinished with things tied at 5-5.
In singles, Guirguis recorded a strong 6-1, 6-1 lead on court 2 to push the lead to 2-0 in favor of Troy. Avdeeva recorded her 15th dual win of the season in the No. 3 spot with a 6-1, 6-1 win to move it to 3-0.
The Trojans clinched the match victory thanks to a 6-2, 6-4 win by Hagar Ramadan-Amin at No. 5.
The remaining three matches went unfinished with Troy leading in two of them.
