Troy Track & Field Hosts Doc Anderson Invitational
4/3/2025 9:34:00 AM | Track & Field, Track & Field (M), Track & Field (W)
TROY, Ala. – For the second straight season, the Troy track & field program welcomes 14 programs from Friday, April 4 to Saturday, April 5, for the Doc Anderson Multi & Track Invitational on the Jesse H. Colley Track.
"We are excited to host the Doc Anderson Invitational," director of track & field / cross country Marc Davis said. "So many things are happening besides the competition that will add excitement to the two days. First, we are set up for a nice meet—good competition on the top end and great competitive sections for everyone. We are looking for some momentum builders coming at home. Next, we have a recognition of the seniors on Saturday. A great way to close a career is to be recognized at home in front of your family, friends and teammates. Finally, we have several alumni coming to be recognized as well. We have an alum event after day one, and we will gather once again after the meet concludes on Saturday night. Much work has been put into making this a great event. None of it is possible without my staff, Mike Frigge and his staff, and our administration. I cannot wait to get this started."
Troy opens its meet on Friday at 11 a.m. with the men's hammer throw, and the day concludes at 5:15 p.m. via the men's and women's 200m and 5000m. Meanwhile, Saturday opens with the decathlon events at 10 a.m. and goes until the 4x400m relay on the women's side at 6:25 p.m. The 14 programs that will compete against the Trojans are West Florida, Alabama State, Alabama Huntsville, AUM, Huntingdon, Marion Military Academy, Thomas, Mercer, Miles, Montevallo, Spring Hill, Tulane, Tuskegee and UAB.
