Troy Completes Domination at Doc Anderson Invitational

TROY, Ala. – Troy wrapped up two days of competition at home with a new school record held by Aaliyah Murphy and 14 first-place finishes at the Jesse H. Colley Track.
Murphy continued her dominant freshman campaign with a record-breaking performance in the 400-meter hurdles, running a blazing 59.94 for first place. Meanwhile, Shanyah Washington ran a windy 11.20 to win the women's 100-meter and take two wins on the weekend.
The 4x100 quartets dominated at home, both placing first overall. Jasmine Jimenez, Catherine Forbes, Murphy and Washington ran a 45.80 for the win. Tydreke Thomas, Evan Brown, Keylan Hicks and Michael Eady ran 45.80 to top the rest of the field via the men's side.
Troy swept the top three spots in the men's 100-meter with Mario Tullis (1:56.11) leading the way, followed closely by Michael Marvin (1:56.61) and Jonas Koturenka (1:56.68) – Caden Blackman also set a personal best with a time of 1:57.45.
Haley Wilson also continued her freshman campaign with a personal best time of 56.91 to win the women's 400-meter, with her teammate Kyra Dalluge placing second with a personal best time of 57.21.
The Trojans continued their dominance in the field on day two with eight top-two finishes.
Joy Edward (14.09m) won gold in the women's shot put, while Altwayne Bedward (18.08m) threw a season's best to win the men's shot put.
Shanara Richard (43.06m) won the women's discus. Bedward (48.26m) and Tayjo Oppong (47.79) finished second and third behind teammate Javon Osbourne (55.56m), who competed unattached.
Alejandra Gutierrez-Fuente (12.28m) leaped to a season's best to win the women's triple jump, with Jordan Bailey (12.24m) behind her for second.
The Trojans are back on the road next weekend at the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa from Friday, April 11th, to Saturday, April 12th.
