Track and Field Gears Up for NCAA First Round

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Troy track and field is set to compete at the NCAA East Regional First Round at the University of Kentucky in Lexington on May 27-30.

On Wednesday evening, Michael Eady will kick things off for the Trojans in the men's 100m at 6 p.m. CT. Eady was a late addition to the field on Friday. Also on the men's side, Jasai Taylor will race in the men's 400m hurdles shortly after at 7:20 p.m. CT.

On Thursday, Shanyah Washington will start the day for the women in the 100m at 6 p.m. CT. Rachel Whyte will continue the evening for the Trojans in the 400m at 6:25 p.m. CT. Aaliyah Murphy will wrap things up for the Trojans in the 400m hurdles at 7:20 p.m. CT.

Following the opening round, the top 24 athletes in each event will advance to the quarterfinals, scheduled for May 29-30. The top 12 finishers in the quarterfinals will earn spots at the NCAA outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., set for June 10-13.
