TROY, Ala. - After taking the first two games, No. 18 Troy fell to ULM 7-3 in Saturday's series finale at Riddle-Pace Field.

The Trojans outhit the Warhawks 10-8, but were unable to cash in on their opportunities, matching their season-high with 14 runners left on base. Troy scored its first run in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by second baseman Sean Darnell, while first baseman Blake Cavill launched a two-run shot in the seventh inning. The Trojans loaded the bases with one out after Cavill's homer, but came up empty as ULM reliever Brandon Brewer worked a strikeout and a groundout.

Senior right-hander Jay Dill made his second start of the season for the Trojans, pitching three shutout innings to open the ballgame. Dill, however, was knocked out of the ballgame before recording an out in the fourth as the Warhawks put up four runs in the frame.

ULM countered with freshman lefty Brennan Eager, who logged 4.0 innings with six hits, one run, one earned run one walk and two strikeouts. Righty Joshua Gregoire relieved Eager with the bases loaded and no outs in the fifth, allowing just one of the inherited runners across on Darnell's sacrifice fly.

Noah Thigpen pitched 3.0 innings out of the bullpen for the Trojans, allowing two earned runs on a pair of solo homers. Luke Lyon followed with 2.1 innings of one-run ball while Dylan King finished the top of the ninth with a pair strikeouts.

Troy moves to 28-12 on the season and is tied with Southern Miss for second place in the Sun Belt Conference at 12-6. Coastal Carolina sits atop the standings with a 14-4 conference record.

Cavill recorded his 12th multi-hit and 10th multi-RBI game of the season.
Sean Darnell recorded his 14th multi-hit game of the season, which leads the team. He went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Brooks Bryan hit his 11th double of the season, a new career high for the junior. He had ten doubles last season as a sophomore. Bryan's 11 doubles are tied with Steven Meier and Sean Darnell for the team-lead.
Steven Meier extended his on-base streak to 45 games dating back to last season, going 1-for-4 with a walk.
Jay Dill made his second start of the season, pitching 3.0 innings with three hits four runs, four earned runs, four walks and two strikeouts.
Dylan King recorded the final two outs of the top of the ninth inning, striking out both hitters he faced. He's struck out an impressive 13 hitters in 7.1 innings pitched this season.
