TROY, Ala. - A complete game from Noah Edders and an explosive performance from the Troy offense rocketed the No. 18 Trojans to an 11-1 victory over ULM in seven innings at Riddle-Pace Field.
Edders, a junior right-hander from Woodridge, Ill., tossed 7.0 innings with four hits, one walk and one earned run while matching his season-high with nine strikeouts on his way to his first career complete game. Edders was scoreless through his first six frames, allowing just one run in the seventh on sacrifice fly before ending the ballgame with a strikeout.
The Troy offense knocked ULM starter Daniel Gonzalez out of the ballgame before recording an out, putting up seven runs in the opening frame. The Trojans had each of the first eight hitters of the ballgame reach base safely, and it was Gavin Schrader who busted things open in the seven-hole with a three-run home run off reliever Zach Shaw.
The Trojans out-hit the Warhawks 12-4 and got multi-hit games from Sean Darnell (2-for-3), Jimmy Janicki (2-for-4), Schrader, (2-for-4), Mike Bello (2-for-4) and Jakob Wax (2-for-4). Darnell hit a two-run double in the first and had an RBI single in the third while Janicki drove in two on a double in the fifth.

Quotables
Head coach Skylar Meade on Noah Edders…
"There's a lot of things that can get you distorted in not only the seventh inning, but really the whole night. Long wait after the first inning, and so that's what makes me most proud. Obviously, the stuff was good. The execution was great. Being able to stay just totally engaged in a lot of different scenarios was the most impressive part."
Noah Edders on pitching with the lead…
"Pitching with the lead with an offense like I have makes it easy for me. I just have to fill it up and compete. No freebies. It made me calm down really early, just understanding that my offense already has this game in the bag before I even went out there for two innings."
Gavin Schrader on setting the tone…
"It's a really big tone setter when you come out and put up seven runs. That helps your pitcher know that he just has to throw strikes, and it really gets the offense going."
