TROY, Ala. - The postseason honors continue to roll in for Jimmy Janicki.
D1Baseball named the Troy catcher a Second Team All-American on Thursday. It's the third All-America honor for Janicki, who was also named a Second Team All-American by Perfect Game and a Third Teamer by NCBWA
The Sun Belt Player of the Year was among college baseball's most productive hitters this season. He finished the 2026 campaign among the nation's leaders in RBIs (2nd - 87), hits (5th - 97), doubles (5th - 26th), total bases (5th - 188) and home runs (25th - 21).
Janicki's 87 RBIs and 188 total bases both set new single-season records at Troy. He also made Trojan history as the first player at Troy to hit 20 doubles and 20 home runs in a season, and was one of four players in the country to do so in 2026, along with Arizona State's Landon Hairston, Mississippi State's Ace Reese and Texas A&M's Caden Sorrell.
The Downers Grove, Ill., native helped lead Troy to its first College World Series appearance, hitting four home runs in the NCAA Tournament. He hit two in a 16-11 win over No. 8 Florida in the Gainesville Regional and one in each of the Trojans' first two games in the CWS against No. 16 West Virginia and Ole Miss.
This week, Janicki began his summer at USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp as one of 56 premier non-draft-eligible players in the country. He is the second Trojan to earn an invite to USA Baseball Training Camp, following Brooks Bryan in 2024.
Training Camp begins with practices on Wednesday through Friday before the exhibition slate starts on Saturday. The 56 players will be divided into Team Stars and Team Stripes and will face collegiate summer teams from the Appalachian League in Burlington, N.C., on Saturday; Danville, Va., on Sunday; and Cary, N.C., on Monday.
The five-game Stars vs. Stripes Series runs from Tuesday, June 30, through Saturday, July 4. They'll open at Segra Stadium in Fayetteville, N.C., on June 30, play three games at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, July 1-3, before the finale in Fayetteville on the Fourth of July.
The Collegiate National Team will be named following the Stars vs. Stripes Series on July 5. Those selected will head to Taichung City, Taiwan, to represent the United States in the World Collegiate Baseball Championship from July 11-15. The Tournament consists of collegiate-level teams representing Chinese Taipei, Japan and Korea.
