TROY, Ala. - Following a historic season that ended with the program's first appearance in the College World Series, Troy Baseball achieved a program-record No. 6 national ranking by both Baseball America and the National College Baseball Writers Association in Tuesday's final top 25 polls.
The Trojans' No. 6 ranking is the highest in Troy's Division-I history across all sports.
Additionally, the Trojans came in at No. 8 in both the D1Baseball Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches Poll.
The unforgettable run to Omaha began at the Gainesville Regional, where the Trojans rattled off four straight victories over Rider, Miami and No. 8 Florida twice to claim the program's first regional crown.
Jabe Boroff homered four times and was named the Gainesville Regional's Most Outstanding Player. Sun Belt Player of the Year and Second Team All-American Jimmy Janicki homered twice in Troy's 16-11 victory over the Gators before the pitching staff of Hayden Smith, Benjamin Stubbs and Noah Thigpen dominated Florida in the 10-2 win in the regional final.
Troy became just the eighth No. 3 seed to host a Super Regional after Little Rock swept through the Hattiesburg Regional as the No. 4 seed. The Trojans of Troy swept the Trojans of Little Rock, hosting a Riddle-Pace Field record 6,426 fans in game one before topping it with 7,033 in game two.
Boroff went yard twice, which included a grand slam, in the 12-2 game one victory before right-hander Tommy Egan gave Troy 7.1 spectacular innings with eight strikeouts in the 7-2 Super Regional clinching win.
Troy went 1-2 in Omaha, dropping its opener and finale to West Virginia while earning the program's first College World Series victory over Ole Miss, surging back from down 6-2 to win 12-8. Sean Darnell, Janicki and Blake Cavill all homered in the win over the Rebels, while Boroff gave Troy its first lead with a two-run double.
Boroff finished the NCAA Tournament with six home runs, tied for the most in the country with Auburn's Chase Fralick, while his 21 NCAA Tournament RBIs were the most since Georgia's Rich Poythress drove in 21 runs back in 2008.
Janicki's historic season ended with 87 RBIs, the second-most nationally and a Troy record. He became the first player in Troy history with at least 20 doubles and 20 home runs in a season and was one of four players in the country to do so in 2026.
Janicki was joined by Aaron Piasecki and Drew Nelson on the All-Sun Belt First Team. Piasecki collected 95 hits, the tenth-most nationally, while Nelson was named a semifinalist for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year.
Troy's run to the College World Series ended with a 39-32 record, its third time winning 39-plus games in head coach Skylar Meade's five seasons. The Trojans earned seven ranked wins, four top-ten victories and went 5-4 against opponents from the SEC.
