TROY, Ala. – Fresh off its WNIT championship game run, Troy women's basketball signs Alabama native Aniya Hubbard to bolster its 2025-26 roster.
"Aniyah raises our ceiling for how good we can be," head coach Chanda Rigby said. "She is a skilled and powerful player who is a volume scorer."
Hubbard sat out the 2024-25 season after flourishing at FAU for two seasons with 15.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals in 25.5 minutes. She earned 2022-23 C-USA Freshman of the Year while collecting all-conference second team, all-defensive team, all-freshman team and Freshman of the Week five times.
Her scoring display was apparent in her career-high 30-point game against East Carolina in 2023-24, where Hubbard shot 9-of-13 from the field and 12-of-13 at the charity stripe. Despite only playing 17 games in her sophomore campaign, Hubbard scored in double-figures in 15, opening the season with three straight 20-plus point games against Mercer (28), North Florida (24) and Chicago State (24). The 5-8 guard went on to have three straight again against East Carolina (30), Wichita State (21) and UAB (23).
The Hoover High School graduate came out of the gates strong, debuting with 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists at Bethune-Cookman. She shot 46.2 percent from the field en route to 14.5 points per game, including 20 games with 10-plus points and seven with 20-plus. Hubbard also swiped away multiple steals in 18 games, with a career-high of eight coming at FIU.
