Women’s Tennis Falls to Georgia Southern

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis team fell to Georgia Southern in its home finale 4-1 on Tuesday afternoon at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
Troy (11-8, 6-4 SBC) struggled to find its rhythm and saw its four-match winning streak come to an end. Prior to the match, the Trojans celebrated its two seniors, Gabrielle Leslie and Hagar Ramadan-Amin.
Georgia Southern (11-9, 3-6 SBC) got off to a strong start in doubles and carried that play over into singles. To open the match the Eagles secured a 6-3 win in the No. 2 doubles spot and a 6-2 win in the No. 3 spot to take the early 1-0 advantage.
The Eagles extended their lead to 2-0 with a win on court three. The Trojans struck back, as Leslie secured an impressive 7-6 (7-3), 6-0 win at the top singles spot in the final home match of her collegiate career. It was her sixth win of the spring and her third in a row.
Georgia Southern closed out the match with a pair of singles wins at No. 6 and No. 2. The remaining matches went unfinished.

The Trojans regular season finale brings them to San Marcos this Saturday to take on Texas State. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
