Women’s Tennis Drops Regular Season Finale

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Troy women's tennis team fell to Texas State, 4-0, on the road in its regular season finale on Saturday morning at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.

Troy (11-9, 6-5 SBC) won just two sets all day. The first victory came to open doubles play, as Valeriia Avdeeva and Maria Guirguis recorded a 6-4 win in the No. 1 doubles spot. Texas State won the next two matches to take the 1-0 lead.

In singles, it was all Bobcats, as Texas State won the first three matches to clinch the team victory. Avdeeva was the only Trojan to win a set, recorded a 7-6 victory before her match went unfinished.

Texas State clinched victories in the No. 1, 5 and 4 spots. The remaining matches were not played out.

Up Next
The Trojans set their sights on the Sun Belt Tournament in Rome, Ga., next week. More information about seeding and opponents will be released by the Sun Belt Conference later this weekend.
