Troy Soccer Hosts Georgia Southern in ‘Kick Out Cancer’ Matchup
10/4/2025 12:40:00 PM | Soccer
TROY, Ala. - Troy Soccer returns home to the Troy Soccer Complex on Sunday for its "Kick Out Cancer" game against Georgia Southern.
The match will feature a special recognition in honor of breast cancer awareness, while the first 100 fans in attendance will receive a pink "#ONETROY" wristband.
The Trojans are coming off a 5-3 loss at Old Dominion on Thursday, the final match in a three-game stretch that saw them play the Sun Belt's top three teams in the NCAA RPI. Troy fought back from down 3-0 at halftime to cut the Monarch deficit to 3-2 early in the second half as redshirt freshman Megan Hamm and freshman Hayden Barnett each netted their first career goals, while Hamm added an assist on a goal from sophomore Hailey Phillips.
It was Troy's first time scoring three goals in a Sun Belt Conference match since 2022, and they'll look to keep their offensive momentum rolling against a Georgia Southern club that enters the weekend with a 2-8-3 record while sitting 0-3-2 in Sun Belt play. The Eagles rank 13th in the conference with 1.77 goals against per game and are scoring 0.846 goals per game, which ranks 12th.
