Men’s Golf Splits Squad at Turtle Point Invite and Everett Buick GMC Classic

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's golf team will split its forces this week, with three individuals competing at the Turtle Point Invite and the Trojans' A lineup playing in the Everett Buick GMC Classic on Monday and Tuesday.
Troy has turned in a pair of ninth-place finishes in its first two events of the season and has played five of their six team rounds under par on the year, led by Pablo Gracia's -1.83 score vs. par and 69.67 stroke average.
Gracia is one of four Trojans who have had all their rounds count toward the team card this season, and he's played under-par five times, including four rounds in the 60s. Lee Poppell has also started the season strong, averaging a stroke under-par per round with four total rounds under-par.
Head coach Clay Bounds will roll out the same lineup for the third straight tournament, with freshmen Thomas Crane (0.17) and Landon Noble (2.33) in addition to sophomore Grant Yerger (1.00).
On the individual side, it will be a trio of freshmen for Bounds hitting the course at Turtle Point, with Pierce Becker playing for a second straight tournament, while twins Lawton and Haston Emblom will make their collegiate debut.
