Men’s Golf Closes Regular Season at Mossy Oak

TROY, Ala. – Fresh off back-to-back fourth place finishes, the Troy men's golf team closes out its regular season Monday and Tuesday at the Mossy Oak Collegiate Championship against a field featuring 10 teams ranked inside the top 75 nationally and three top-20 squads.
Troy finished fourth at the Memphis Intercollegiate two weeks ago and added a second straight fourth place last week at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate last week; they mark the highest finishes of the year for head coach Clay Bounds' club.
Trojan golfers combined for seven rounds under-par during the two events, including Troy's trio at the top of the lineup – Pablo Gracia, Lee Poppell and Thomas Crane – recording two each. Those three have combined for 32 rounds in the red this year, paced by Poppell's 13, while Gracia leads the way with eight rounds in the 60s.
Bounds will roll out the same lineup for a third straight week as brothers Lawton and Haston Emblom will join Gracia, Poppell and Crane at Mossy Oak, a 7,212-yard track. That puts three freshmen in the lineup for Bounds in addition to a pair of juniors.
The Irish Creek Intercollegiate is the Trojans third straight week with a tournament for the before the Sun Belt Championship at the end of the month.
The Trojans will play along with Louisiana Tech and ULM beginning on holes 15 through 18 at 8 a.m.
