Men’s Tennis Hosts North Alabama on Saturday

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team is back in action on Monday morning as it welcomes North Alabama to the Lunsford Tennis Complex. First serve is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
Troy (5-3) has won four straight matches after getting off to a slow start to open the spring season. The Trojans are also looking to keep its undefeated home record (5-0) intact. Troy is coming off a pair of wins against West Alabama on Tuesday and has not dropped a point in during its win streak.
Multiple Trojans have impressed through eight matches, but Yeray Andres Pastor and Hiiro Sakamoto are leading the charge with impressive 6-1 records in singles so far. Luciano Alcocer is 4-1 this spring, while Vicente Arbelaez is 3-1. The Trojans have accumulated a singles record of 28-14 this spring and are 18-0 in the last four matches.
In doubles, Troy is also starting to find it rhythm as its won the last four doubles points. The duo of Henrique de Brito and Pastor are 4-0, with three of the matches coming in the No. 2 spot. Alcocer and Sakamoto have a team-high five doubles wins. The Trojans are 4-0 this season when winning the doubles point.
North Alabama (1-1) is coming off a 4-3 win against Belmont last Sunday. Last season the Lions put together a 16-9 record and made it to the semifinals of the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament but fell to No. 1 seeded North Florida. North Alabama participated in the NIT Championship last year and lost to No. 56 Liberty.
The Trojans dropped their match to the Lions last season in Florence by a 4-3 score.
