Men’s Tennis Hosts West Alabama on Tuesday

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis is back on the courts on Tuesday, as it hosts West Alabama for a doubleheader at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. First serves are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Troy (3-3) is coming off a doubleheader sweep over Auburn-Montgomery last Friday. The Trojans won 4-2 in the first match and 7-0 in the afternoon.
The later match on Friday marked the second time this season that Troy has won all six singles courts in match. The Trojans won all six singles matches in its home opener against Samford two weeks ago after dropping the doubles point.
Now through six matches this season, the Trojans are finding their groove in singles play, compiling a 19-14 record. Hiiro Sakamoto and Yeray Andres Pastor are continuing to lead the way with a team-best 4-1 record. Luciano Alcocer has also gotten off to a strong start this season with a 3-1 record.
The Trojans won the doubles point in both matches last Friday. The pairing of Alcocer and Sakamoto is leading Troy with a 4-2 record. As a squad, the Trojans are 8-9 in doubles matches this spring.
Tuesday will serve as an exhibition for West Alabama, who won't officially kick off their second until Saturday against Alabama State. Last season the Tigers went 8-13.
