Men’s Tennis Hosts Auburn-Montgomery on Friday

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team is back home on Friday, as it hosts Auburn-Montgomery for a doubleheader at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. First serves are set for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Troy (1-3) is coming off a 7-0 loss to No. 11 Mississippi State last Sunday. The Trojans are looking to get back to the winning ways it saw last Friday when they defeated Samford 6-1 at home. Over the last two season, the Trojans are 13-1 at home and are looking to continue the strong play as they are home for their next five matches.
Through four matches, Troy has been led in singles play by Yeray Andres Pastor and Hiiro Sakamoto, who each have a team-leading 2-1 record. Henrique de Brito is 2-2 through four matches. As a team, the Trojans are 10-12 in singles play – 6-0 at home.
In doubles, Troy is still looking to find its grove. The Trojans have yet to win the doubles point this spring and are 3-8 in doubles matches. The duo of Sakamoto and Luciano Alcocer are 2-2, while de Brito and Noah Martens have the other doubles victory.
Last season, the Trojans went 2-0 against AUM, which included a 6-0 win and a 7-0 win. For the Warhawks have yet to play a match this season, and Friday will serve as an exhibition for them.
