Troy Lands Five on CSC Softball Academic All-District Team

TROY, Ala. – Troy Softball landed five players on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team as D'Aun Riggs, Jade Sinness, Haley Pittman, Audra Thompson and Anslee Finch were recognized.

Troy's five selections were the maximum allowed under the current CSC Academic All-District guidelines. The Academic All-America Teams will be announced on June 18.

Sinness and Thompson are both in the process of earning their master's degrees and carry perfect 4.0 GPAs in their accountancy and criminal justice programs, respectively. On the field, Sinness earned NFCA All-District Third Team honors after leading the Trojans with a .362 batting average and 12 doubles, while Thompson earned All-Sun Belt Second Team honors after tallying six doubles and seven home runs.

Riggs entered the spring with a 3.96 cumulative GPA in broadcast journalism and had a career year at the plate, batting .339 with six doubles, four triples and six stolen bases. Finch carried a 3.90 GPA in biology in the classroom and hit .285 with nine doubles and six home runs, while Pittman carried a 3.68 GPA in data analytics in addition to starting 12 games in the circle and posting a 6-4 record with a 3.90 ERA.
