TROY, Ala- Troy Softball dominated Southern Miss, 10-4 in game two of three on Friday night at the Troy Softball Complex.

Troy (26-11, 6-2 SBC) plated 10 runs on 10 hits marking its 13 contest where the Trojans have recorded double-digit hits.

Jade Sinness had a great night from the plate, the senior went 2-for-3 while recording a team-high of two RBIs. Designated player Cassidy Boltz also had another impressive outing for the Trojans as well. The Tallahassee native went 2-for-4 at the dish with one RBI.

The Trojans started an offensive run in the home half of the second inning. Boltz started the inning off with a single, followed by Anslee Finch and Natalie Turner drawing walks. Turner's walk turned into a wild pitch, with Boltz taking advantage plating the Trojans' first run of the inning. Jade Sinness would single to right field to score both Finch and Turner before a flyout would end the inning with Troy leading 3-0.

Southern Miss would answer back in the third frame where they would score two runs off four hits pulling within one making the score 3-2.

The third inning would look similar to the second inning with the Trojans getting two base runners, in Boltz, who got on because of a fielder's choice and Finch who drew her second walk of the night. Audra Thompson would double to right center field to score both Boltz and Finch. Sarah Beth Brake would score Thompson with a well-placed single to third when a fielder's choice would end the inning but not before Troy extended its lead to 6-2.

The Golden Eagles would respond by plating two more runs in the fourth inning, bringing the game within two, at 6-4 but a pitching change for the Trojans would shut down any more hopes of scoring.

Troy would plate four more runs between the fourth and sixth frames on one error and three hits to seal the victory at 10-6.

Haley Pittman and Alyssa Faircloth were unstoppable from the circle tonight recording 10 strikeouts between the pair. Pittman recorded her third game-tying her career-high six strikeouts in her three innings of work. Alyssa Faircloth continued to add to her impressive freshman campaign, punching out four batters, and giving up no runs.

Thoughts from Coach Newell

"I feel good about the game, we had 10 runs on 10 hits. We pitched the ball well, and especially at times, we pitched it well. We played a pretty good defensive game; it was just a well-played game. Southern Miss just fights to the bitter end, so you have to keep playing and playing hard. We played a hard seven innings tonight, some I'm excited about that."

Troy recorded 10 hits in tonight's contest, this marks the 13game this season the Trojans have hit in double-digits.
Alyssa Faircloth has recorded a small streak of five strikeouts in her last five appearances. The freshman tallies 44 strikeouts on the season with a season-high of eight against Morehead State.
Jade Sinness, D'Aun Riggs, and Cassidy Boltz all recorded a team-high of two hits in tonight's contest.
