Men’s Golf Readies for Daytona Beach Intercollegiate

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's golf team returns to the links Monday and Tuesday for the Daytona Beach Intercollegiate, hosted by Stetson as the LPGA International Golf Course. The Trojans are coming off a strong start to the spring after finishing in the top half of the field at the Border Olympics two weeks ago.
Jake Springer led the Trojans in the spring opener, shooting 7-under for the tournaments, thanks in part to a 6-under 66 in the final round after 1-under 71 in the second round. Springer leads the Trojans with a 0.11 score vs. par for the year and a 71.78 stroke average.
Freshman Pablo Gracia makes his spring debut after pacing Troy in the fall with a 71.87 stroke average. He leads the Trojans with eight rounds under par and is tied with Lee Poppell with four rounds in the 60s, who is not far off the leaders with a 72.67 stroke average for the year.
Brantley Scott shot 3-under at the Border Olympics for his first top-25 finish of the year, while Nick Fowlkes opened with back-to-back pars in the spring opener and sits at 1.33 vs. par for the year, with three rounds under par.
