The Trojans head North to compete at Blazer Invitational

TROY, Ala- Troy Track and Field heads up the road to Birmingham to resume the indoor season at the Blazer Invitational hosted by UAB at the Birmingham CrossPlex on January 12.
Last season, over the same weekend, the Trojans competed in the Vulcan Invite and found success, with 15 Trojans placing in the top 10 across multiple events.
At the Vulcan Invite, Biniosa Ezukuse grabbed the best finish for the Trojans at second place in the shot put, where she threw 14.22m. Ezukuse and Abby Grosinske both finished inside the top 10 at the weight throw with 16.19 and 14.51, respectively.
Tydreke Thomas will compete in the 60-meter dash at the Blazer Invitational this weekend. He placed third at the Vulcan Invite with a time of 6.89 and will look to build on that this year at the Blazer Invitational.
The Trojans opened the season on December 1, 2023, at the BSC Indoor Icebreaker. At the Icebreaker, Troy saw its first podium lockout from the women's shot put led by Joy Edward with a throw of 13.44 meters. The meet was successful as 13 Trojans placed within the top 10 across various events, including weight throw, women's 60m and women's 400m.
30 Athletes are set to travel to the meet and compete in 20 different events.
