BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Paced by a field-best two eagles, Troy is in eighth place following Monday's opening two rounds of The Clerico at the Cedar Ridge Country Club. The Trojans climbed up the leaderboard thanks to a strong showing in the afternoon round behind Jake Springer's 2-under.

Springer carded five birdies on the par-70 course during the second round as he shot 68 to move into a tie for 24^th place after shooting 5-over in the morning. Freshman Pablo Gracia also had a strong afternoon with three birdies en route to even par and a tie for 36^th after the day.

Troy moved up three spots from its standing after the first round after shooting 8-over in the second round, an improvement of eight shots from the morning session. Another 8-shot improvement in Tuesday's third round would put the Trojans in the top five of the 12-team field. Little Rock shot even for the day and is the clubhouse leader, a shot ahead of Michigan.

Gage Carnes, who had an eagle during his round of 2-over in the morning, is tied for 38^th place at 7-over par, while Nick Fowlkes, who had the other eagle, is tied for 48^th place at 11-over. Brantley Scott struggled in the morning but rebounded with a 75 in the afternoon and sits tied for 61^st.

Teams are set to play 18 more holes Tuesday morning to close out the event.
