Troy Soccer Hosts Coastal Carolina on Saturday Night

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's soccer team hosts Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 5 p.m. CT at the Troy Soccer Complex. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and live stats will be available on TroyTrojans.com. Admission to all Troy soccer games is free of charge.
Troy (5-8-1, 0-5-1 SBC) is coming off a hard-fought 1-0 loss to South Alabama on Sunday in Troy. Despite being winless in their last eight games, the Trojans have yet to fall by more than one goal in any of those matchups and have only lost by more than one goal once this season.
Coastal Carolina (3-9-1, 0-5-1 SBC) fell 2-1 to Georgia Southern at home on Sunday. Coastal is winless in its last six games (five losses, one draw).
The Numbers
Gabrielle Chartier continues to pave the way for the Troy offense, leading the team in goals (5) and points (11). A senior, Chariter entered her fourth year with the Trojans in 2023 with zero career goals and only five career points.
Head coach Stuart Gore has continued to rotate goalkeepers as of late, with both Une Hebnes Georgsen and Rubie Kelley seeing time in goal. On Sunday against South Alabama, Georgsen started the game and played the first half before Kelley played the second half. Overall, Troy goalkeepers are allowing 1.29 goals per game and saving 72.3 percent of shots.
The back line for the Trojans continues to be a strong presence, as Troy has allowed a 40.4 percent shot-on-goal rate. Olivia Simpson and Hallie Field have led the defense and Field leads the team in minutes played at 1,252, with Simpson just behind her at 1,206.
The Troy offense has been more productive in the second half of games this season, scoring ten goals in the final 45 minutes compared to six goals in the first 45 minutes. Despite more goal production in the second half, the Trojan defense has also surrendered more goals in the final 45 minutes. They have allowed 11 goals in the first half compared to seven in the first half.

The Chanticleers have been led by Lou Martinet, who is first on the team in goals (4) and points (9). Coastal Carolina has scored nine goals this season, with those being scored by just four players (Martinet, Petring, Wiles and Yoo).
